It's funny how this works some days.
I've made little secret of the fact
that my day job is at a burger joint. I'll do what seems to be the
smart thing and not say which one specifically.
Suffice to say, though, chicken is a
popular menu item where I work, in a lot of forms. With that in
mind, I'm not going to gripe too much about how much of it needs to
be cooked. Making sure we have enough on hand is part of my job. I
can accept that.
What confounds me the most here is that
there are almost too many times where the need to keep cooking the
chicken products becomes so great that I start to fall behind on the
hamburgers that are so much the focus of the establishment I work at
that they're even in the name.
I know I shouldn't be as frustrated
about it as I am, since this is a day and age when folks like me
should consider ourselves lucky to have jobs.
I just can't help but wonder if there's
a better way to do this. Maybe hire a person to do that. Hell, we
used to have that. Why we changed, I'm not sure, but it might be a
good idea to go back. Save us some time and a few errors.
But hell, what do I know, I'm just some
peon. If I was any good at making the big decisions, I'd be doing
that instead of what I'm doing.
